Bridge 2 Youth was established in 2003 as a result of a youth work started in 2002 within Bridge Christian Fellowship. It was initially meeting the needs of around 20 primary aged kids meeting weekly, now the same club hosts over 100. Bridge 2 Youth now runs and facilitates programs for the community on 5 days of the week; ranges from a Parent & Toddlers group to Debt counseling.
Bridge 2 Youth are in continued contact with approximately 400 members of our local community on a weekly basis. We continue to work in partnership with Bridge Christian Fellowship as we try to show local people that church can be relevant.
We aim to support young people through their growth from childhood to
adulthood; this involves the young people exploring their self-identity.
This can be difficult for those involved but we firmly believe that when
we embrace the young people through every situation, we will build and
strengthen relationships. When we have a positive two relationship with
the young people anything is possible and achievable.
Our goals are that people from the local community will feel more valued, listened to and empowered, therefore creating a more positive community with less unemployment and crime; but better community spirit and contentment.
